I live and work in Hampstead Garden Suburb, North London.
I was drawn to art early, sketching and modelling in plasticine from the age of four. I've had no formal art training, but I was lucky to get a three year apprenticeship to a London Mayfair studio working for some of the top cartoonists, fashion artists and illustrators of the day. Then followed stints at two London advertising agencies. I then took the plunge and set up on my own, drawing for the press, publishers and ad. agencies. Member of the BAJ (British Association of Journalists) and a founder member on the committee of HGS Art.
My career has been, and still is commercial art, illustration, and cartooning and for this I mainly use fibre tips and Pantone markers and the the computer. However, I still like nothing better than painting or drawing in the classic way, the things, people and places that interest me. I enjoy exploring the characteristics of most mediums including oils, pen and ink, watercolour and the humble, yet versatile pencil. Subjects include landscape, people and animals.
Art can vary in size from a few inches to a few feet depending on the medium and the subject.
